Wheat Market News and Commentary

Wheat futures posted gains of 5 to 11 1/2 cents in most contracts, with the grain complex in general seeing buying on Thursday. A weaker US dollar index helped to support the market. There will also be no USDA Export Sales report on Friday due to the shutdown. First half EU wheat exports were 26.4% lower than the same time last year at 8 MMT from 7/1-12/30. Ukraine’s wheat exports were also 7.08% lower (from July 1 to Jan 2) at 10.5 MMT.
